Valencia sporting director Francisco Rufete has admitted that the club plan to further reinforce the squad in the January transfer window.
Los Che were very active in the summer, signing the likes of Rodrigo Moreno, Andre Gomes, Alvaro Negredo and Shkodran Mustafi, among others, with the heavy recruitment producing excellent results.
Valencia in turn enjoyed a bright start to the season, climbing to second in the league standings, and they are now 4/9 to finish in top 4.
Los Che are now eager to keep the rich vein of form as long as possible, with sporting director Francisco Rufete confirming the club would be adding more players in January.
“The winter market serves to recruit, no? But, we still have two and a half months ahead to remove any doubts,” Rufete told Esports Nit, a programme on Spanish radio 97.7.
After winning five of first seven league fixtures, Valencia sit mere two points behind leaders Barcelona in the overall standings, with last week’s 3-1 win over reigning champions Atletico Madrid enough to suggest the team could go far this season.
