Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that La Liga high-flyers Valencia have emerged as favourites to sign FC Porto defender Ivan Marcano.
The 30-year-old is nearing the end of his contract with the Dragons and he is now free to speak to interested clubs about a Bosman deal.
A return to Spanish La Liga looks certain as Sevilla and Real Betis had earlier expressed their interest in the player, who is also on Valencia radar.
Los Che aim to lure Marcano to Mestalla at the end of the season and are prepared to offer him a lucrative contract worth €4 million per campaign and a substantial signing-on fee.
This is enough to suggest that FC Porto are unlikely to keep hold of their star player beyond the current campaign.
