Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have set their sights on signing the talented Valencia teenager Fran Villalba, according to local media publication El Desmarque.
Regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football, the 18-year-old Spanish midfielder has shown great promise of late and was awarded a first-team debut under Gary Neville.
The player himself is keen to remain with Los Che, but is believed to be keeping his options wide open hoping to emerge as a more prominent fixture for the La Liga club.
Having made three appearances in the top tier last season, Villalba is yet to make an appearance for the senior set-up. Meanwhile, he has already notched five appearances for the reserve squad this season, scoring one goal in the process.
Villalba has a releae clause worth €4 million and Manchester United are thought to be eyeing a move for the player Valencia want to tie down on a new contract which would see the release clause rise to somewhere between €20 and €30 million.
