Dutch manager Ronald Koeman may get sacked by Spanish side Valencia CF after the Copa del Rey final, which is to be played on Wednesday.
Koeman joined Valencia from PSV Eindhoven earlier this season to replace Quique Sanchez Flores, but the results have been everything but positive ever since.
Of 21 matches in the Primera Division, the 2004 champions managed to win only four. In the Champions League, the team stood no chance and were knocked out in the first round.
Spanish sportspaper Marca reports that Koeman is likely to be removed from his function after the final of the Spanish cup, the only tournament in which the team did achieve success.
Koeman’s actions at Valencia have been controversial from the start. The former Barcelona defender removed star players David Albelda, Santiago Cañizares and Miguel Angel Angulo as they undermined his authority.
In the Spanish league, Valencia currently occupy the 15th position at only five points from the relegation zone.
