Spanish giants Valencia are being linked with a summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon star Rui Patricio, according to Superdeporte.
Los Che have so far been unable to sign a replacement for first choice goalkeeper Diego Alves, who will miss the start of the season through injury.
Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santo recently suggested that none of the players that had been linked with a move to Mestalla of late were actually on their radar, and the latest reports suggest that Rui Patricio has emerged as club’s top target.
After spending his entire career so far at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the Portugal number one is reportedly looking for a new challenge, and a move to Spanish La Liga is likely to appeal to him.
Patricio, 27, has been an important player for club and country for a number of years now, making 228 league appearances for Sporting Lisbon and earning 37 Selecao caps.
