Valencia want new striker

Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santo aims to recruit a new centre forward in the January transfer window, according to Superdeporte.

The Portuguese coach already has Paco Alcacer and Alvaro Negredo at his disposal, but it would appear as though the latter is no longer in his first team plans.

After the former Manchester City striker had complained about being played out of position, Nuno left him out of the match squad for two successive games, and it remains to be seen whether the experienced forward will be in contention for weekend’s match against Atletico Madrid, where los Che are 11/2 to emerge victorious.

The latest reports suggest that the boss has asked chairman Lay Hoon Chan for permission to bring in a centre forward in the winter transfer window, but the outcome of the meeting is not yet known.

Alvaro Negredo joined Valencia in a €30 million deal from Manchester City, but he could only score 2 goals in 9 appearances this term.
