Valverde not pressured by Vidal comments

Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde claims he does not feel any pressure following the comments made by Arturo Vidal a few days ago.

In an interview with TV3, the midfielder said he needs to feel important at the club he plays for, and if that isn’t happening at Barcelona, he’ll have to consider looking for it elsewhere. Naturally, the statement has been interpreted by the media as a plea for more game-time, but Valverde apparently has no intention of changing his plans just to appease an unhappy player.

He believes that it was actually a personal reflection of the player himself, and not an attempt to put pressure on the coach or the club.

As quoted by Sport, Valverde said Vidal knew he would only play at given times when he arrived to Barcelona, and they are very happy with how well he has done. But nothing is certain at the moment, and more will be seen when the transfer window opens next month.

Vidal has recently been linked with Inter Milan.
