Valverde unsure of his Barcelona stay

Ernesto Valverde has admitted that he is not sure how Tuesday’s loss will impact his future with Barcelona. Blaugrana lost 4-0 at Liverpool, after having a 3-0 lead from the first match and for the second consecutive season blew up a three-goal lead after the first leg in Champions League. Last season, it was a 4-1 lead that was lost at the hands of Roma.

“How does it affect my future? I do not know, the truth is that I did not have time to think about many things, but the coach has to take responsibility,” he told Movistar Plus​ after the match at Anfield.

Valverde won La Liga in both seasons and is on course to win the domestic double, as Copa del Rey final is yet to be played. However, after two such heartbreaking losses, many believe that domestic double will not be enough to save his job this summer.
