Valverde wants Barca deals

According to Sport, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde does indeed want to make signings in the January transfer window. The previous belief was that they wouldn’t be looking at bringing anyone in, but now, as the rumours continue to swirl regarding who they could be in for, it looks like Barca are closer than ever before to adding to their ranks.

Samuel Umtiti’s injury has potentially played a big role in the decision making process, as the Frenchman may end up requiring surgery on his knee. If the situation develops as they’re expecting, then they’ll almost certainly look for a  replacement – either long term or short term.

Barca are still leading the way at the top of La Liga but there are a series of clubs right on their tail, and if they want to regain the Champions League title, they’ll need strength in numbers and it appears as if Valverde realises that.
