Van Bommel believes Barca will win Champions League

Dutchman Mark van Bommel believes Barcelona will win the Champions League if they can manage to beat Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old Bayern Munich ace spent one season at Barcelona before joining the Bundesliga side in 2006.

“We are going to play against the best team in the world at the moment and they will be at home,” he said in an interview with Sport.

“It is clear that Barca are the hot favourites because they are in great form at present and they can count on the best group of players in the world.

“And just like many, I believe that they will surely win the Champions League if they can eliminate Bayern. But similarly, if we beat them, then we will be making a statement to the world, ‘Look! The real Bayern Munich have returned!” he added.
