(GSM) – Mark van Bommel wants to take on the role as mediator at Bayern Munich. The Dutch captain wants to restore the peace between Luca Toni and Louis van Gaal. The Italian striker criticised the coach in public and stated that their rapport is ‘almost non-existent.’ After his critical comments Toni was dropped from the squad by an angry Van Gaal.
Van Bommel thinks Bayern needs the towering hitman in this difficult period and wants to restore the peace between Toni and Van Gaal. “I’m prepared to talk to anyone to keep the team together,” he told German TV station Sport1.
Despite his possible reconciliation attempt, the 33-year-old midfielder rejects the way Toni expressed his critics. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a player or someone from the board: it’s bad to express your critics in public.”
