(GSM) – Bayern München has received a defensive boost as Daniel van Buyten is fit again after a couple of weeks on the sidelines with a calf injury.
Van Buyten suffered from a torn calf muscle and had to pull out of the last few games. The Belgian centre half has been training since Wednesday this week and says he’s ready to play against FC Köln this Saturday.
“It was very good,” Van Buyten told the club’s official website.
“I didn’t notice any reaction from the calf. I hope to be named in the squad (to face Köln).
“I need a couple more sessions to regain my fitness,” he further considered when asked about his chances of making the starting XI.
Despite Van Buyten’s potential return, Bayern’s troubles in central defence continue however, with Argentine international Martin Demichelis ruled out for three weeks.
