Ajax’s Donny van de Beek has denied suggestions he had already signed an agreement to join Real Madrid, as relayed by AS.
With Paul Pogba now seemingly a mission impossible for the 13-time European champions, they’ve moved on to Van de Beek as the next name on the list of potential additions to their ranks. Should he make the move, the 22-year-old would join the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Isco Alarcon and James Rodriguez in the midfield section of the squad at Zinedine Zidane’s disposal.
After Ajax beat Sparta at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Sunday by 2-1, where he scored the opening goal, Van de Beek was asked about the situation in the mixed zone and firmly denied any agreement with any club. The press persisted with questions, asking him also if he would prefer Real to Manchester United being also linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The Dutchman simply refused to choose between the two clubs and labelled them both as great, but adding Ajax in there as well. De Telegraaf believe that a €55 million deal has been agreed between Ajax and Real, but the player himself hasn’t made his mind up yet.
