okay lets get this straight Edwin van Der sar is right by saying that Chelsea just go defensive even though they spend unimaginable sums of money in buying superstars e.g Mata teams should play to entertain their spectators for example Barcelona
But on the other hand he is wrong by saying indirectly that chelsea is not worthy of winning trophies because of their defensive formation.
i am a man u fan but i still think that strategies are adopted for teams to be successful but chelsea should adopt attacking formations

Edwin Van der Sar is right, teams should play for the sake to entertain the watcher not their bosses. If Chelsea wants to acquire more respect; they should start by dropping that hideous defensive strategy. Such strategy even if is effective, it is not fun to watch, to follow, and destroys the sport entirely!

I know you mentioned arsenal because they played great football but do not win any trophies but ignores teams like barca who completely dominate every competition they played in and won the ucl 3 times in the last 6/7 years…the only reason why arsenal did not win any trophy is because they lose their best players every season due to lack of financial resource but they still play great football and managed to finish in top 4 every season, on the other hand chelsea have already spent about 1.2 billions….and for what????….to defend against 10 men benfica. And what style does chelsea play??? I guess….defend from the first minute and hope that they can get a corner somehow and maybe drogba can head the coner towards the goal and gets deflected luckily in the goal or get lucky in the penalty shootout
