Van der Vaart hopes to meet Spain

(GSM) – Netherlands midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is hoping to meet Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.

The Oranje reached their third World Cup final with a 3-2 win over Uruguay in a dramatic semifinal in Cape Town on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Van der Vaart, whose mother is Spanish, loves to face his Real Madrid team-mates in the final.

“I hope Spain is our opponent in the final. My family is from Spain and I play for Real Madrid. They have a great team.”

“We are used to big games and we are all sticking together. In the second half against Uruguay we proved just how well we can play football. We all expected a victory.”
