Tottenham’s Rafael van der Vaart believes it is a positive sign his team-mates were shattered after conceding a late goal against Swansea City.
Spurs were leading at half-time on Saturday thanks to a goal from the Dutchman, but eventually conceded an equaliser late on as Scott Sinclair got his name on the scoresheet to ensure the hosts snatched a point from the encounter.
“It was disappointing to lose a goal just before the end of the game,” van der Vaart told the club’s official website.
“But I think Swansea did well, they try to play, try to build-up and maybe they were the better team at the end.”
“They have some great players and you can see they must work every day on possession and passing. I was impressed, compliments to them.”
“The fact we’re disappointed is also a good sign. Perhaps a couple of years ago Tottenham would be happy with a draw on this occasion but we know we can do more.”
“It’s been a great first half of the season though and we have lots to look forward to.”
Tottenham take on West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Tuesday.
