Netherlands international defender Gregory van der Wiel is almost certain to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the near future, according to Le 10 Sport.
Despite joining the club as one of Europe’s hottest prospects, the 27-year-old has failed to prove his worth at Parc des Princes, and it is only a matter of time before he leaves.
Even if van der Wiel wouldn’t mind staying at PSG, the club officials are desperate to offload the full-back this summer seeing that his contract will expire in June 2016.
With Serge Aurier raising his form and centre-back Marquinhos capable of operating on the right, the Saints may not even sign a new right-back if the Dutch footballer leaves.
Gregory van der Wiel made a total of 72 Ligue 1 appearances since joining from Ajax, scoring 2 goals.
Manchester United and AS Roma are both believed to be keeping close tabs on his services, and they could attempt to sign him on a cut-price deal this summer.
