Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel said Chelsea are yet to speak to him, but would welcome any interest from the Champions League winners.
The Netherlands international has played more than 100 times for the Dutch giants, and is now seeking a move.
Chelsea are in the hunt for a new right-back after releasing Jose Bosingwa, but despite rumours of interest from the west Londoners, van der Wiel insisted he still does not know where his future lies.
“I didn’t hear anything from my manager, I think it is just rumours and we will see in the future what comes,” he told Sky Sports.
When asked whether he would like to join the Stamford Bridge club, he added: “Yeah of course I would, it is a beautiful club.
“I watch a lot of English football and they won the Champions League and it was a great performance.”
Van der Wiel is expected to feature heavily for the Netherlands at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine as they seek to go one step further and win the tournament after losing out in extra-time in the 2010 World Cup final.
Chelsea have signed Marko Marin from Werder Bremen and are reportedly close to tying up deals for Lille sensation Eden Hazard and Porto superstar Hulk as they look to revamp their ageing squad with fresh talent.
