Ruud van Nistelrooy said he is concentrating solely on Malaga’s end to the season and has not had time to think about his own future.
The veteran striker’s contract with the Andalusian club is due to expire at the end of the season and it is unclear if the Dutchman, who will be 36 in July, will play on.
“The club and I wanted to sit down in March, but I’m so closely involved with the team, I almost forgot to think about my future,” Van Nistelrooy told Dutch daily Leeuwarder Courant.
“But my future is not important. The important thing is that the club ends as high as possible.”
Van Nistelrooy joined Malaga in 2011 on a free transfer from Hamburg, and has netted three goals in 20 La Liga appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The Rosaleda outfit are fourth in the Primera Division standings with 47 points, one point behind Valencia in third and two ahead of Champions League rivals Levante.
Malaga’s next assignment is a home encounter against struggling Racing Santander on Monday.
