Ruud van Nistelrooy is one of the three Dutch players, along with Rafael van der Vaart and Royston Drenthe, that didn’t left Real Madrid.
Before the transfer window there were six Dutchman on Madrid’s team list.
In Marca, Van Nistelrooy stated that he’s part of the best squad he’s ever seen in his life.
`Van Gol` is confident that he can play an important role for his club, despite a long absence due to a knee injury.
`I haven’t forgotten how to score goals, it’s in my blood. I will always be up front to take my chances,’ the 33-year-old striker said.
Despite his serious injury, that kept him off the pitch for almost nine months,
Van Nistelrooy has never seriously thought about leaving Real.
`The doctors said that I will be able to play three more years on the highest level. The easiest way would have been to leave to another, smaller club. But my heart told me to stay at Madrid,’ the Dutchman added.
