Van Persie closing in on Fenerbache switch

Fenerbache are in talks to sign Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, according to the Mirror.

The Netherlands international was in London on Thursday to undergo a medical, ahead of a protracted £5m move to the Turkish club, who finished as runners-up to Galatasary last season.

The 31 year old scored forty-eight goals in his first two seasons at Old Trafford, though he managed just ten last season, largely playing second fiddle to captain Wayne Rooney.

Prior to his move to Manchester, Van Perise spent eight seasons at Arsenal while he began his career in his home country with Feyenord.

He has forty-nine goals in ninety-eight appearances for his country, with nineteen of those caps being won over the last three World Cup tournaments.

Manchester United finished in fourth place last season, and can be backed at a price of 1/6 to end the forthcoming campaign in the Champions League qualification places.
