With the chance to climb into the play-off positions, Vancouver will welcome a struggling Toronto to the BC Place Stadium in the early hours of Saturday.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of another impressive display in their 2-1 win at home to Dallas last weekend, there is no doubt that the mood in Vancouver’s camp will be on a high. Tasting defeat just once since the 20th of April, Marc Dos Santos’ men will have their sights firmly set on landing a play-off finish. Aside from a close-fought 1-0 loss at home to defending MLS champions Atlanta earlier in the month, a huge part of the Whitecaps’ recent success has come down to their form at the BC Place Stadium. Saturday’s hosts have lost just one of their last five matches in British Columbia, including a very eye-catching 1-0 win over Western Conference league leaders LAFC.

As for the visitors, while Vancouver might be enjoying a purple patch, the same can not be said for a struggling Toronto outfit. Coming off the back of another lackluster display in their 2-1 loss at home to San Jose last time out, Greg Vanney’s side have lost four of their last five MLS matches and are without a win since the end of April. With only their goal difference seeing them occupy that final spot in the play-offs, it will undoubtedly be their form on the road giving Vanney the biggest headache. Suffering back-to-back defeats away at Atlanta and Real Salt Lake, Toronto have now lost three of their last four matches outside of Ontario.
