The new Major League Soccer season is going to be the 25th campaign and it is getting closer and closer. In 20 days, teams will be on the pitch, playing their first matches, and that is why there are still a lot of deals being done these days. One of those came unexpectedly from Serbia.
Vancouver Whitecaps have signed Serbian defender Ranko Veselinovic on a season-long loan from FK Vojvodina, it was confirmed on Sunday. Serbian media outlet MONDO broke the story, which Whitecaps later during the day confirmed to be correct.
Veselinovic is 20 years old and he has been Vojvodina captain this season, despite being so young. He will join Vancouver on loan until the end of 2020 and if he plays 12 matches for the club, he will become a permanent member of the Whitecaps, on a four-year deal. Veselinovic played over 60 times for Vojvodina and he will be taking up international slot for the Caps.
