(GSM) – West Ham United are interested in signing Belgium international Anthony Vanden Borre, who was on loan at Portsmouth last season.
Vanden Borre has returned to Italian club Genoa after refusing to rejoin Pompey following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
Hammers boss Avram Grant coached Vanden Borre, who is adaptable to playing in defense and midfield, at Portsmouth last season.
The 22 year-old has also caught the eye of German club Köln, but the Belgium international’s relationship with Grant puts West Ham in pole position in the race to sign the player.
