Speaking to Le Figaro (as relayed by AS) ahead of the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening, Raphael Varane spoke highly of Kylian Mbappe.
The Los Blancos defender said he knows everything about the qualities of the young forward, with whom he plays of the French national team, and revealed that he would like to play alongside Mbappe on club level too. Real were heavily linked with a move for PSG star Neymar this summer and negotiations reportedly took place, but with that move failing to materialize, later reports suggested that the foundations had been laid for Real’s move for Mbappe next summer.
The 13-time European champions spent over €300 million on transfers this summer which probably prevented them from paying the price demanded by PSG for Neymar, but fresh reports in Spain claim that Real will have huge funds for new players next year as well.
Meanwhile, they’re obviously working on convincing the 20-year-old to come to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Varane adding that he has only good things to say about playing for Real.
