It’s getting increasingly likely that Lucas Vazquez will be leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season. That is according to Spanish transfer expert Alvaro Montero, who told Sky Sports that Real have refused to give the wide man the kind of contract he has asked for, and there has been no breakthrough in the negotiations over the issue.
It seems Vazquez and his representatives believe there is interest in his services elsewhere, namely in the Premier League, the Serie A and the Bundesliga. Arsenal have recently been credited with interest in his services.
With the squad under Zinedine Zidane rich in players who can play on either attacking flank, the 29-year-old has been forced to act as a backup option for right-back Dani Carvajal. However, that versatility and willingness to play wherever he is needed have helped him make 33 appearances this season in all competitions, with two goals and seven assists to his name.
