Frankfurt manager Armin Veh has warned midfielder Sebastian Rode that a move to Bayern Munich could damage his career.
The 22-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Bundesliga outfit and has announced his intentions to leave the club on a Bosman free transfer.
A move to the UEFA Champions League winners has been suggested as his most likely destination, but Veh has urged Rode to give the potential transfer full consideration.
“It is true that Sebastian Rode would like to go to Bavaria, where this club is interested,” Veh told Sport Bild plus.
“I, as a coach would not advise him (to do that). I think that would not be beneficial for his development.”
The German was a regular feature for Frankfurt last season, making 33 appearances in the league.
Rode started in the club’s opening fixture of the new campaign on Saturday as Frankfurt were thrashed 6-1 by Hertha Berlin.
