Carlos Vela says he is focused on performing for Real Sociedad and is not concerned with how parent club Arsenal view his efforts.
Vela, 23, struggled to earn a first-team place for Arsenal and was sent on loan to La Liga club Sociedad, where he has scored five goals in his last six league matches.
While the Mexico international could yet earn another chance at the Emirates Stadium, he claims to only be interested in doing his best while on loan in Spain.
Vela told Marca: “As I said before, I want to finish the season well here, scoring more goals and giving all the assists that I can.
“Then, when the transfer season comes around, we will talk about that topic then. Now I am not thinking about either Arsenal or the future.
“I try to do my best and enjoy every moment at San Sebastian, because I do not know if I will stay here.
“Therefore, I must take advantage of every moment that remains and we’ll see if I continue.”
Vela has previously been on loan to Osasuna and spoke of his desire to continue his playing career in Spain.
“From my point of view, from a footballing and lifestyle standpoint, it is better to stay in this league,” he said in a separate interview with Diario Vasco.
“I have a contract with an English team (Arsenal) and if I have to return there I will adapt, but if I could stay here I would be happier.”
