Velez maintain perfect record

Defending Argentinian champions Velez Sarsfield maintain their perfect record in this year’s edition of the Primera Division, beating Arsenal 3-1 on Saturday.

Nicolas Otamendi put Velez ahead after 23 minutes against Arsenal de Sarandi, and Hernan Lopez made it 2-0 shortly after the hour.

Cristian Alvarez pulled one back for the visiting side in minute 70, but Maximiliano Moralez netted for 3-1, the final result, eight minutes later.

Estudiantes also won their second game in a row, beating Gimnasia La Plata 3-0. Rosario Central defeated Tigre 1-2 and have six points from their first two matches as well.
