Thomas Vermaelen has admitted that he is considering a move away from Arsenal, the Metro understands.
The Belgium international has played just ten minutes of Premier League football so far this season having missed the opening few weeks with a back injury.
Per Mertersacker and Laurent Koscielny are now established as the Gunners’ first choice defensive partnership, and Vermaelen knows that he must be playing regular first team football if he is to feature at next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
With Marc Wilmot’s side having already booked their place at the tournament, the 27 year old is in line to win his 44th cap against Wales this evening.
However, he is competing with Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany, Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen, Daniel van Buyten of Bayern Munich and Nicolas Lombaerts of Zenit St Petersburg for a regular starting berth.
The former Ajax defender is priced at 11/2 to get on the score-sheet in Brussels this evening.
