(GSM) – Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen hopes the Gunners can win some silverware this season. The Belgium international says Arsenal have proved the critics wrong after some had written off the Gunners’ in both the Champions League and domestic title race.
Arsenal have threatened Chelsea and Manchester United at the top of the Premier League lately after an impressive run of four-successive wins to get within two points of the summit.
And although they were tipped to crash out of Europe this week, Arsene Wenger’s team came up with a brilliant performance to beat Porto by 5 goals to nothing.
“We’re been written off twice already I think,” said Vermaelen. “We’re still in the race for both things, for the league and the Champions League, but you have to stay focused on every game and the next game is Hull City. You have to win every game.
“We will see at the end of the season. You have to focus every game and we will see where we are at the end.”
