Hellas Verona seem to be pondering a move for Mexico captain Rafael Marquez, according to sporting director Sean Sogliano.
The Gialloblu largely impressed on their return to Italian Serie A, with veteran striker Luca Toni one of their star performers.
And Hellas Verona now seem ready to take a gamble with yet another very experienced player as they are reportedly keen on Leon’s Rafa Marquez.
Club sporting director Sean Sogliano has all but confirmed that the Gialloblu could be making a move on the 35-year-old defender.
“Marquez? I have many dreams, then I wake up…” Sogliano told Sky Sport Italia.
“We’ll see. We will certainly make more moves on the transfer market, but we need patience.”
Verona have already made a healthy profit on the sale of Juan Manuel Iturbe less than a month after purchasing his contract from FC Porto, while they also managed to recruit Italy international Romulo from Fiorentina.
Their latest target Marquez has spent last year and a half in native Mexico before impressing for El Tri at the World Cup finals in Brazil.
