Serie A high-flyers Hellas Verona could make another piece of business this summer as they are believed to be weighing up a bid for Marco Donadel, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The experienced midfielder is out of contract after leaving Napoli and he is currently in the Gialloblu’s transfer plans.
Hellas Verona coaching staff first plan to assess the current options in the squad before stepping up their interest in Donadel, but they could try and sign the 31-year-old on a free transfer.
Not so long ago, the AC Milan graduate was considered one of Italy’s top holding midfielders, but despite amassing 31 caps for the Under-21 side, he never earned a senior Azzurri cap.
After leaving Fiorentina, Donadel spent last three years at Napoli, making just 4 league appearances after suffering a serious injury, before featuring in 23 Serie A fixtures and scoring one goal in the process while on loan at Hellas Verona last season.
