Pescara midfielder Marco Verratti has refused to comment on speculations linking him with a summer move to Juventus.
The 19-year-old played an instrumental role in Pescara’s 2-0 victory over Torino, their fifth triumph in a row, which helped them climb to the Serie B summit.
The highly rated midfielder, who is likened to Andrea Pirlo, has been heavily linked with a summer switch to Juventus, but he admits he wouldn’t mind playing in Serie A with his hometown club.
“To go to Serie A with Pescara would be a dream for me as an Abruzzese,” Verratti told Sky Sport Italia. “We’ll discuss it at the end of the championship with the club.
”I will agree on the best choice for next year with club chiefs and (Zdenek) Zeman.”
Pescara coach Zdenek Zeman believes that the youngster is worth around €15 million.
“Juve want Verratti and he said he will ask me for an advice on his future? I am pleased that our players are appreciated, but his future must be decided by the club rather than the coach,” Zeman was quoted as saying.
“However, I see that many foreigners are paid more than €15 million, and he is worth that much.”
Pescara are closing on promotion to Serie and they sit three points clear of third-placed Sassuolo following the run of six straight victories.
Together with forwards Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne, Marco Verratti has had a key role to play in team’s uptrend in fortunes.
The player, who started his career at Pescara, has featured in 29 Serie B games this term.
