According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in rewarding Marco Verratti for his strong start to the new season by offering him a brand new contract with the French champions. His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2021, and while that gives them a substantial amount of time to work with, the club aren’t interested in letting that run down below 18 months.
Verratti has been slowly but surely establishing himself as one of the most efficient members of PSG’s starting XI for a good few months now, and it appears as if he’s ready to help try and take the club to that next level.
The hope is that they can challenge for the Champions League this season, and while that may seem like an out there idea, they’ve already proven what they’re capable of by dispatching of Real Madrid in their first group stage game.
