According to Marca, the talks surrounding a potential move away from Paris Saint-Germain for Marco Verratti have been dismissed. The Italian midfielder’s future has been up in the air for quite some time now, after spending the last six years carving out a legacy for himself as one of the most effective players in his position across European football.
His reactions, ball control and maturity beyond his years have led many to dub him as the next big thing – and while he may be inclined to stay, for now, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not that remains the case over the next few years. With that being said, the aforementioned report does actually indicate that Verratti could indeed sign an extension for a further five years which would see him earn an astronomical €10 million per season. The 25-year-old made 38 appearances in total for PSG last season, scoring two goals in the process.
