Jan Vertonghen is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will offer him a new deal, according to ESPN.
The thirty-one-year old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of this season, though he fully expects to still be at the club beyond the summer.
He has played every minute of Spurs’ four league games so far this season and scored in the 2-1 win over Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the campaign.
Since signing from Ajax in the summer of 2012, the Belgium international has racked up almost two hundred and fifty appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals.
The defender has been capped one hundred and eight times for his country with the last six of those outings coming at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia while he scored in the 3-2 win over Japan in the round of sixteen – his ninth international goal.
