Veteran AC Milan keeper Christian Abbiati has signed a new deal that will keep him with the Rossoneri till June 30, 2013. The announcement, made by Milan on their official site, almost certainly ensures that Abbiati will finish his career with the club he has been with since 1998.

Abbiati spent four years at Monza before joining Milan in 1998. He has also had loan stints at Borgosesia Calcio, Juventus, Torino and Atletico Madrid.

Abbiati is expected to don the No.1 jersey at Milan this season. He missed much of last season with a knee injury. Milan have released Brazilian keeper Dida and have also taken Marco Amelia on loan.
