Victor Valdes wants Premiership switch

Catalan daily newspaper Sport understands that Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is hoping to move to English Premier League at the end of the season.

The same source has suggested that the 32-year-old has already agreed a four-year deal with Monaco, but the contract has an escape clause allowing the player to break the agreement in exchange for compensation.

And it appears that Valdes is prepared to exercise the clause since he is reportedly keen on moving to English Premiership.

His representatives have been in contact with both Manchester City and Liverpool, and it would appear as though the two sides lead the chase at the moment.

Victor Valdes has spent his entire career up to date at Barcelona, winning six La Liga trophies and three Champions League titles at Camp Nou.

Having allowed bitter rivals Real Madrid to open up a three-point lead at the top of the league, the Catalans are 6/4 to defend the trophy.
