It’s fair to say that Atlanta United have been the biggest and most positive surprise of the MLS this year.
The expansion side delighted the football fans in the US during their debut season in the top flight by reaching the playoffs after a sensational regular season.
The rapid growth and expansion of the team was recognized by the supporters who were the wind in players’ back for the entire campaign that ended in a penalty shootout defeat against Columbus.
The elimination ends something special but sets the stage for what could be the beginning of something even greater and the fans once again play a big part in it.
