Belgium have been eliminated from the World Cup after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of France and the overall sense of disappointment was understandable.
Yet in all the sorrow and sour feeling, there was a moment of amazement as Belgian TV used technology to present what’s likely to be the future of TV coverage.
Namely, they interviewed Eden Hazard via a hologram straight from the dressing room and projecting his image inside the TV studio back home as if the Chelsea star was genuinely there.
Impressive!
Post-Match Hologram Interviews 🤯
Incredible use of technology from Belgian TV, having @HazardEden10 join their pundits in the studio via hologram from the 🇧🇪 dressing room.
Is this a first glimpse into the future of sports TV coverage? 🤔 @GaryLinekerpic.twitter.com/FUpsgNrtA6
