La Liga giants Barcelona invited the Brazilian side Chapecoense to take part in the Joan Gamper trophy to lend support during an extremely difficult time for the club.

Chapecoense traveled to Colombia to take on Athletic Nacional in the Copa Sudamericana final when a terrible plane crash killed almost the entire team with only three players surviving the accident.

One of those players was on the Camp Nou pitch yesterday – Alan Ruschel – who received a standing ovation when he was being subbed off.
