England came from behind to beat Slovakia on Monday night and to maintain the leading position in Group F with two games to play.
Marcus Rashford first gave away possession to allow Slovakia to score, but the Manchester United forward went from zero to hero as he assisted Eric Dier for an equalizer before scoring a long-range winner for the MOM performance.
It wasn’t the goals and the play, however, that got most attention last night. It was Dele Alli’s middle finger reportedly aimed towards former Tottenham teammate Kyle Walker.
Television videos show Spurs star gesturing in the 77th minute after he was body-checked by Martin Skrtel in an incident waved away by referee Clement Turpin. Alli took it to Twitter to clarify the incident, saying it was a joke between him and his ‘good friend’ Kyle Walker.
Manager Gareth Southgate confirmed it, saying the two of them ‘have a strange way of communicating’.
