Former Chelsea striker could not have asked for a better start to his new adventure with Atletico Madrid.

Diego Costa was forced to wait for Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban to expire in order to make his highly-anticipated return to football and marked his first game back with a goal in Atletico Madrid’s win over third-tier side Lleida Esportiu in the Copa del Rey.

The Spanish international came off the bench four minutes after the hour-mark and scored the third goal for his team after latching on a Juanfran cross inside the box.
