Former Southampton striker James Beattie has received widespread appraise for his bravery as he helped rescue two young children and their distraught mother after a yacht collided with a ferry in Pool Harbour, Dorset.
The former England international heard a woman crying for help and leapt into action which was caught on film by the Telegraph.
Beattie hauled the children and their mother to safety in a selfless act of bravery.
