Sampdoria cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Serie A hotshots Napoli on Sunday to record their first win of the new season.
The 36-year-old veteran forward Fabio Quagliarella emerged as the man of the hour after scoring a wonderful backheel goal for La Dea.
As a former Napoli player and a man born in the region, Quagliarella refused to celebrate what can surely be counted as one of the best goals in his career.
“Is it my best ever goal? No… it’s in the top three, but I scored from midfield a couple of times, so there are others to choose from.” He said after the match.
