Dramatic scenes were witnessed in Shanghai when the stadium of the Chinese Super League powerhouse Shanghai Shenhua – best known for recruiting Carlos Tevez on a £615,000-a-week contract back in December – burst in fire.
Flames and thick black smoke surprised and scared people who captured the moment on mobile phones.
Firefighters battled the fire and managed to contain it before it spread out and made more damage.
Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, but Shanghai Shenhua will probably be forced to play some of their games elsewhere until the damage is repaired.
