Wayne Rooney has done it again!
The former England international scored two goals to help his team secure a place in the MLS play-offs with one game to spare in the regular season.
The Englishman joined DC United in June with his new team sitting at rock bottom of the Eastern Conference. With a league record low of just 10 points to their name after 12 rounds of action, DC United were not in the best place possible.
In comes Wayne Rooney with 12 goals in just a couple of months’ time to give DC United a vital push into the play-offs.
Former Manchester United and Everton forward scored a brace in a 3-1 win over New York City with his first goal being particularly impressive due to a nifty run from his teammate Luciano Acosta.
The second goal Rooney scored came from the penalty spot.
