Sunday’s match between Young Boys and Basel had to be put to a halt for a brief moment as Young Boys ultras staged a pre-arranged protest against eSports.
A giant pause button and a message on the banner reading “Sh*t eSports” were just a part of the choreography which also included throwing Playstation controllers – and tennis balls – on the pitch.
Supporters of the Swiss side decided to express their dissatisfaction over increased investment in eSports and did it in a rather theatrical manner.
