Vidic and Inter Milan part company

The Mail Online understands that Nemanja Vidic is available on a free transfer after seeing his contract with Inter Milan terminated by mutual consent.

The Serbian centre-back moved to the Serie A side in the summer of 2014 but has endured a tough time, racking up just twenty-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.

He is now searching for a new club, with the MLS his most likely destination though there will be some calls for him to re-join Manchester United, the club he served for eight-and-a-half years.

During his time with the Red Devils he racked up three hundred outings in all competitions, scoring twenty-one goals while he won a host of major honours including five league titles, three League Cups and the Champions League in 2008.

The thirty-four-year old was capped fifty-six times for his country, scoring twice before announced his international retirement in October 2011.
